Happy birthday to Debra!

I managed to get into the garden today. I raked the back lawn and did a bit of tree surgery. I reshaped a few of the trees and shrubs in the back garden. Hopefully I haven't killed them!

We went for our annual new year's day walk today (?!) in Thetford Forest. We were hoping to go there on 1st Jan but decided against it after getting up later than we wanted to. Thanks to one of us being a sluggard we only just made it today too!

It was our first time there, we enjoyed it and will possibly go back. The only thing to take the shine off it was £6 for parking which we thought was a bit steep We bought a leaflet containing 26 walks (apparently) and a guide to the trees. The walks were not much use. Instead we just followed the way markers which were really well done. We started on a yellow route.

Happy New Year! Woke up hangover free which was a bonus. I'm getting the health band-waggon rolling as of today. The snacks have gone in the bin and we went for a walk around Ferry Meadows to get some exercise and fresh air

Tonight we went to Silke and Matthias for new year's eve we had lots to eat including duck, lamb, beef, chicken in a fondue. I had some special beer (St Annen Dunkel) which shamed my tins of Boddingtons. There were fireworks and a couple of spectacular mini hot air balloons which we sent up into the night sky. The neigbours were impressed with those (as were we). We also watched the traditional german comedy sketch "Dinner for One" as well as welcoming in the new year with a glass of bubbly.
